EASTER BUNNY AT SCHOOL
Before Easter holidays somebody visited our 1st and 2nd graders.
Could you guess who?
Yes, you were right, our mischievous friend the Easter Bunny.
He brought us some chocolate Easter eggs.
Yummy, yummy!!!!They were delicious.
However, the students had to look for them...
AND ALSO SAINT PATRICK
And after the Easter Bunny visit, we also celebrated Saint Patrick but don´t panic,we explained who Saint Patrick was and what he did, where this festivity is from, other countries which celebrate it and the legend of the Leprechaun.
By the way, did you find any shamrocks? and the pot of gold? Lucky you...
but we also worked very hard...

MAGIC SHOW
Last Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th the students of 1st and 2nd grades attended a magic show.
That was great. The magician was fantastic and everything in English.
These were some of the spells:
1. a magic book, now it was in blank, now it had pictures:lions, dolphins, giraffes,..
2. a magic handkerchieh. Now with spots, now without them
3. four volunteers on the stage with a magic bag
4. a very special newspaper which has no problems with milk
5. one volunteer on the stage and the sponge balls
6. let´s dance "Head, shoulders, knees,.."

Mythical Creatures
That's the title of unit 5. 5th graders are learning about mythical creatures in the world.
Myths and legends are stories from the past. There are myths from all around the world about dangerous beasts and magical creatures.
They have been creating their own dragons. Friendly, dangerous, smiling, ugly, scaring DRAGONS !

Yesterday a group of our 4th, 5th and 6th graders took part in the trailing that the University of Cambridge organized as a part of the project of YLE exams scales.
They received a bag and a book as a gift to thank them the collaboration.

That's the title of unit 5. 6th graders are learning about how fashion has changed through the ages.
In the 19th century, adverts had a lot of text.
After the 19th century, most clothes adverts had illustrations; and after the 1950s, adverts had colour photos.
We have been designing some posters about fashion in the 19th century.
Some of them are really original and creative.

1ST - 2ND GRADERS: MR. CARNIVAL
On Friday 5th February, all the students of 1st and 2nd had a wonderful day.
In the morning we all came to school with our gorgeous and fantastic costumes that we did by ourselves.
This year we dedicated our costume to a great painter Picasso.
And in the afternoon, BIG PARTY with hot chocolate and some pastries.
It was awesome and we had a good time.

Uff, what a week!!!!
"Carnestoltes" has gone bananas, he has completely gone nuts, crazy.
On Monday, he told us to make up
On Tuesday, he told us to wear bathrobe.
On Wednesday, a different hairstyle. He is really crazy.
OK, we are exhausted with all these orders from "Mr. Carnestoltes". And today, well, today something kind of easy to do. We could wear our favourite colour: blue, pink,red,purple,...
A very colourful day.
And what is going to happen tomorrow? We´ll see, but please, something relaxing because we are really exhausted "Mr Carnestoltes". On Monday we will tell you more.

This year we have new English books and one of
our favourite things is the “Pop-outs”.
They are fun English games to help us learn the
structures and vocabulary of each unit.

THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
We do experiments on Science!
The 4th
graders studied the digestive system on Science. One of the most interesting
facts about it is its length. It’s almost 900cm long! To understand it better,
we used some wool to see how long it really is.

THE STORY OF TREASURE ISLAND
On Thursday, 22nd October, we went to the theatre to enjoy from " The Story of Treasure Island ". We had the opportunity to practise our English having fun at the same time.

In order to
have a good beginning of the year, the 6th and the 4th graders spent some time
together doing a very special activity.
The 6th
graders prepared an oral presentation about them and visited the 4th graders to
explain everything they had prepared.
The 4th
graders enjoyed listening to their older partners very much! It also encouraged
them to continue studying English.

On Tuesday, 19th they came to our school and we were sharing some activities, first in the theatre and later in the gym because it was raining " They bring the English weather with them"!
It was a wonderful experience and we're ready to begin a new exchange.

This week we
finished the Swedish project.
We answered the questions that the Swedish
children asked us and record them. Then, we also received a video with the
answers to our questions.
Once the
interview was finished, we talked about all we learnt and we are very happy to
practice English while learning new things about other schools and cultures.
We
would like to thank Vattholma skola for their work and we hope we can ework
together for many years!

The Swedish
project continues!
This second term we prepared an interview to our partner school.
This second term we prepared an interview to our partner school.
First, we
spoke about Sweden and looked up for some information about this country. Then,
we decided what we want to learn about them and each one of the students wrote
a question. Once we had everything ready, we voted for our favourite questions
and each class chose three of them.
Finally, we
recorded a video with our “interview” and sent it to the Swedish school.
Also, the
Swedish teachers and students did the same and we received a very interesting
interview too!
Now, it’s
time to listen to all the questions and answer them.

Year 5 are farmers for some days. They have been preparing their vegetables gardens growing different fruits and vegetables.
Then they have explained what they have planted, when to plant, to pick and different kinds of dishes they could prepare with all these nice and healthy vegetables.

Last
Tuesday we went to the theatre to watch an English play: Billy Banjo!
The play
was very funny and some of us participated to help Billy Banjo on his
adventure.

This
Christmas we have received some great Christmas cards from our partner school
from Sweden. There, we can see beautiful pictures and read Merry Christmas in
different languages.
We also
prepared a very special video with a Christmas carol to wish them Merry
Christmas.
This is the
beginning of this year’s project!
The fourth
graders are studying the skeleton on Science.
Every bone in our body has got a
different name and some of them are a little bit difficult! That’s why we do
fun activities to learn them and have a good time in English!
We have fun
on Science!
The third and
fourth grade students have celebrated Halloween at school! We decorated the
class and watched some scary videos.
Also, Latifah told us how Halloween is
celebrated in England and we played “Trick or treat”.
Later, we

FRANKENSTEIN
On Monday 20th, 5è and 6è went to the school theatre to see the story of Frankenstein.
The story that we see was very funny.
The characters were Dr. Frankenstein, Fritz, the monster and Elisabeth.
Dr. Frankenstein works in a laboratory with his assistant Fritz. He wants to make a monster, so he reads a book and he follows the instructions.
He connects the parts of the body and puts the brain in the head.
Suddenly the phone rings. It is Elisabeth, Dr. Frankenstein's girlfriend. She is very pretty and she loves Dr. Frankenstein very much, but he doesn't love her. Elisabeth doesn't know anything about the monster. The monster is a secret, but...
